TEMPERING EQUIPMENT
UNIGLASS HORIZONTAL TEMPERING LINE UGF - UNICHARGE – United Plate Glass remains a leader in glass fabrication by investing in the most technologically advanced equipment available in the industry. This holds true again for UPG with the distinction of having one of the first high convection furnaces in the United States – the Uniglass UniCharge. Uniglass Engineering has delivered to the market an automated tempering line which meets tomorrow’s standards for production and uniform quality of the end product. The UniCharge Tempering Oven is the best tempering technology on the market due to several distinguishing and unique features. While traditional systems are operated manually, the Uniglass UGF is equipped with an automatic operating system, based on glass-type recipes, which controls all the functions of the tempering line. Optimal heating times are ensured by means of an internal glass temperature monitoring system. A dynamic load pattern recognition system utilizes electric eyes to measure each batch prior to entry into the heating chamber and then applies this information for focusing the heat flow directly to the glass while protecting the edges from overheating. An optimally dimensioned heating system creates an automatic heating profile and provides the most uniform glass final temperature distribution as well as precise roller bed temperature control. Finally, the patented quench, with independently controlled top and bottom nozzle blocks, is specially designed for quenching even the most demanding high performance coated glasses, which will become the standard for the industry in the future. These are just a few of the ground-breaking technological advances utilized by the Uniglass UniCharge to ensure premium quality tempered glass. The UniCharge is a combination heating system which in one unit provides the best of both worlds: the ability to build accurate heating profiles by means of radiant heating while simultaneously allowing very high production rates through forced convection heating, especially for difficult to temper Low-E glasses. The heating system facilitates equalized heat transfer to both glass surfaces – ensuring excellent glass flatness control. In combination, the Uniglass "Power Balance" device directly and accurately controls the temperature of the ceramic rollers ensuring first rate optical glass quality. All United Plate Glass tempered products are certified by the Safety Glazing Certification Council (S.G.C.C.), an independent industry organization. They comply as a safety tempered product with industry standard ANSI Z-97 and with Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Federal standard 16 CFR 1201. |
